Grillz Info, Process, FAQ
You Make Grillz?
Yeah, I make these by hand using the lost-wax carving process.
What Metals Do You Use?
I am currently only making grillz in solid 14 and 18 karat gold. This is because gold is an incredibly body-safe metal, easy to cast, and 14 and 18 karat are still hard enough to retain their shape in your mouth.
Plus, it comes in yellow, rose, and white alloys!
I am hoping soon to utilize rhodium plating to create black grillz, and will make an announcement when the time comes!
What Styles Do You Do?
Anything you would like! The most common are solid caps, or open frames. But I can do concepts such as drips, differently-shaped frames, or abstract shapes!
If you have a cool idea, don't hesitate to reach out. I'd love to give it a shot!
I am now offering enamel on grillz if you want a pop of colour. I plan to offer stone setting soon, and will make an announcement when it's available!
How Do They Stay On?
They are custom fit to your teeth, so they should fit like a glove! This means they can pop on and off as you wish, no glue needed.
If any issues come up and they are hard to get on or keep on, or cause any discomfort, I offer unlimited free adjustments!
Can I get a single-tooth cap?
Yes and no.
Sometimes single cap grillz are not able to stay on, dependent on the shape and size of your tooth.
If you are ordering a single tooth grill, I am willing to give it two attempts, but if it doesn't fit after two tries please be prepared for me to need to attach it to another tooth. This could take the form of attaching to a tooth directly next to it, or attaching to a different tooth using a bar.
How Much Do They Cost?
I charge a base cost to cover my labour, and then charge for the amount of gold used in the final product.
How Can I Get Some?
Please book a consultation to get started on your grillz! During your appointment, we will discuss your design, take your impression, and I will take your deposit!
I don't live in Victoria! Can I get some?
Good news! I am now offering remote orders.
For these, your consult will happen via Zoom and I will ship you a mold kit to complete. There is an instructional video on my Instagram to explain the mold kit!
What Happens During the Consult?
During your consult, we will discuss and finalize what you'd like to get for your grillz. I'll let you know your base cost, which will be paid up front as your deposit. This can be paid via cash, EFT, PayPal, venmo, cashapp, or I can set up a custom listing on this website.
Next, I'll have you sign a waiver and I'll take an impression of your teeth.
In person consults happen at my studio in Victoria, BC. I'll send you the address when you book. Remote consults happen via Zoom.
How Should I Prepare for the Consult?
Please brush your teeth before arriving at your consult, and please come prepared to pay your deposit for your grillz.
When Can I Get My Grillz??
My turn-around time is 6-12 weeks. This is subject to change. Sometimes life gets busy or I'm unsatisfied with the first rendition of your grillz, and this may mean I need a bit of extra time.
Quality is important to me, and I am unwilling to sacrifice it for the sake of speed. I understand you are excited to get your grillz, but please limit check-ins or deadlines, as rushing the process may affect the quality of your final product.
OMG My Grillz are Ready!
Yeah homie! I told you I'd make it happen.
Now I need you to come pick them up at the same place you got them. They will come with a case, a polishing cloth, and some stickers. If you are remote, I will ship this to you (and we will discuss shipping costs).
I may need to make a few adjustments to your grillz to make sure they're fitting you perfectly. If there has been an error on my end and the sizing is off in such a manner that adjustments won't fix, I will re-make your grillz free of cost.
Smile For the Camera...
Once we get them fitting, I'd love to take a photo of you with them on! So please come to your appointment photo ready.
If you are not comfortable having your photo taken, please feel free to say no to this part! I can also take a picture of them on the mold :)
